Certified Physician Assistants
Jason Fritzen, PA-C
Jason graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2007. He holds a degree in Exercise Science and is an athletic trainer as well as a PA. He assists Dr. Jim Mahalek with spine surgery and sees patients in the daily clinics.
Joel McReynolds, PA-C
Joel graduated with his Masters of PA Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2003. He holds Bachelors Degrees in Biology and PA Studies. He assists Dr. Crockett and Dr. Huebner in both clinical and surgical capacities.
Bruce Kohtz, PA-C
Bruce graduated from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1998. He assists Dr. Dan Slawski and Dr. Heber Crockett in his sports medicine and general orthopaedic practice. He serves as assistant surgeon in multiple facilities.
Athletic Trainers
New West athletic trainers serve fifty public schools throughout central and north central Nebraska as well as northern Kansas. During sports season the trainers travel the circuit, assisting coaches during practice, educating players and parents, and attending ball games to assess injuries. Trainers cover underserved areas which helps rural community schools enhance their athletic programs with New West expertise.

Nursing Staff
All New West nursing staff are licensed professional nurses with expertise in orthopaedic care. During clinic hours they provide patient care, pre-surgery education, and post surgical care. A nurse will interview you before you see the doctor. Please inform the nurse if you need a Work Restriction form, doctor's note, or other information.
