Radiology Facilities

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and X-rays are important diagnostic tools. If you had X-rays or MRIs in another facility, bring them with you on your first visit. Mail delivery is unreliable and images may not arrive in time for your appointment. Whenever possible, please hand carry them to your appointment. The physician cannot treat you without these exams and may require you to repeat the exam. Some insurance companies may not pay for repeat exams. This added expense can be avoided by bringing the previous X-rays and MRIs with you. Some images may be available through internet connections we have with some radiology departments. When you request the images, ask if images are available to us by Internet.

Most imaging exams ordered by our physicians can usually be done in the clinic on the day of your appointment. We have a new 1.5 Tesla full field MRI Machine and 2 new x-ray rooms. The physician will discuss the results with you after the exam. Some spine exams are done and interpreted elsewhere, and results may not available on the same day. In this case you will be notified when the doctor has the results. If you have not heard from our office within five days of your exam, please call our office.

How to Prepare

You may be asked to change into a t-shirt and shorts for some exams because buttons and metallic snaps distort the images. Wear comfortable clothing that you can change easily.
